GENERAL RULES:

GAME GUARANTEE

Unless indicated otherwise, each team is guaranteed four games. If you plan to participate in one or more of these events, we encourage you to enter your team as soon as possible as these events are growing in popularity and the spots available are limited.

ASA REGISTRATION:

Any team planning to participate in an amateur (ASA) sanctioned tournament must be registered with the ASA organization.

REFUND POLICY:

A $35.00 administrative charge per team will be charged on all refunds. A team will receive a refund if they withdraw from the tournament prior to the entry deadline date. No refund will be given to a team if they withdraw on or after the deadline date unless a team is found to take their place. If a tournament is canceled or halted due to inclement weather, the team will receive a credit to a future CSA activity.




GAME RULES

PAPERWORK:

*All managers are required to have their completed paperwork (i.e. official roster, proof of ASA insurance/registration, birth certificate, etc.) available upon request by the tournament director or site supervisor. Failure to have this information available upon request may result in forfeiture of all games and/or elimination from the tournament, as well as loss of all previously paid fees.

*Any changes to a team roster must be made with the tournament site director prior to the start of a team's first game.

GENERAL GAME PLAY

*Home team will be determined by a flip of a coin and is the official book.

*Metal Cleats are allowed for the 14, 16 and 18 program only.

*Game time is forfeit time.

FAST-PITCH ASA GAME PLAY:

*On Saturday a team can bat everybody in there lineup and also have unlimited courtesy runners (anybody on your team. You can’t use the same runner in the same inning).

*All games on Saturday shall not have a new inning after 75 minutes. On Sunday all games except the championship game will not have a new inning after 80 minutes. The championship game shall not have a new inning after 90 minutes. All ties on Sunday will be played until a winner is determined.

*On Sunday, with the exceptions noted below, straight ASA rules are used.

*Extra Player is allowed and listed as an EP on the line-up card. The extra player can be listed anywhere in the batting order. Any 9 of the 10 batters listed, can play defense and will be known as FREE DEFENSIVE SUBSTITUTION. Any change of the 10th batter to a defensive player will not be a substitution. The DP/Flex may also be used in addition to the EP.

*A 15 run rule after any inning, 12 after 3 innings. 10 after 4, and 8 after 5 will apply for all games. For seeding games only, if a team has a 10 run lead when the time limit expires, the drop dead rule is applied, and the score at the time of the expiration of time is used.

*For the seeding placement only, games ending in a tie after the time limit will not continue. Each team will be awarded a half win.

*The international tiebreaker will be used in the single elimination tournament if time has expired or after 7 innings.

POOL TIE BREAKERS

The Pool Tie Breaker Formula is used for each placement in order.
In other words, 1st place is first determined, then the full formula is reapplied to second, third and fourth in that order:

1. Total Win/Loss Record
2. Head to Head Competition
3. Total Runs Allowed
4. Total Runs Scored
5. Coin Flip

*The tournament or site director will resolve all protests.





AWARDS

*The winner of the tournament shall receive a team trophy as well as fourteen (14) individual awards. The second place finisher will receive a team trophy. If eight teams enter an event, individual awards for second place will be given as well. In general, the first place awards for the winners of the tournaments will either be trophies, sweatshirts, tote bags, pro-team t-shirts or button-down baseball shirts. The second place awards will be trophies.




ROSTERS AND BRACKETS

*Teams who wish to participate in one of our tournaments need to fill out an official roster.

*We will try to have the tournament brackets and other applicable information mailed to you prior to the event. However, if you have not received the information by Wednesday of the week of the tournament, please call (916-541-7829) that night between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM for your game time. Please note that it is the responsibility of the manager of the team to know what time their squad needs to be at the field.
